Set up carbon tracking

Enable EC2 carbon estimates per region and instance type from your synced inventory.

Prerequisites

  • AWS connected with EC2 instances synced
  • Pro plan (or active Starter Pro trial) for full analytics

Steps

  1. 1

Connect AWS and run a full sync

From Dashboard → Services, connect AWS with read-only credentials and run a multi-region sync. Carbon estimates are derived from EC2 instance types and regional grid intensity.

  2. 2

Review emissions on the Sustainability page

Open Dashboard → Sustainability to see estimated monthly kg CO₂ by region and instance type, plus potential savings from eliminating waste.

  3. 3

    Create carbon threshold alerts

In Dashboard → Alerts, add a carbon_threshold rule with your target kg CO₂/month. You'll receive an email when emissions exceed the limit after the next sync.

  4. 4

    Export data for ESG reporting

Pro users can export sustainability data from Dashboard → Analytics for quarterly ESG reports and stakeholder updates.
